A Message from our Rector Fr. Mícheál Murphy

St. Mary’s, Knockbeg, was and still is a place of great importance in many people’s lives. To our present and past students Knockbeg is the place they experienced the richness of a rounded secondary education.

Our endeavours in education and formation are something we’re very proud of and our commitment to them remains fervent. It is in the gospel of St. John, at the wedding in Cana, that Mary says, of Jesus her Son, to all in her company ‘do whatever he tells you’ (Jn 2:5). Her instruction then remains our challenge today. Here in Knockbeg we have taken the name of Mary as our patron and as a Catholic community we take the story of Jesus, her Son, as the pattern and goal of our Christian living.

Throughout the website you will find all the information, past and present, you might need on KnockbegCollege. Please feel free to contact us if you think we can be of assistance to you. We always like to hear from past-pupils, so if you’ve not been in contact yet, please drop us an email and let us know how you are.

The blue and white hooped jersey, the colourful autumnal avenue, the dorms, the study-hall, the ref, the chapel, the stories of outstanding achievement all continue to make up the story of Knockbeg. I hope, that as you browse through our site, you will engage with and fully appreciate the significance of that story to our lives.
