On Friday 17th Knockbeg College participated in #SchoolsGoOrange. It is a nationwide school event where teachers and students discuss mental health and raise money for the organization 'Cycle Against Suicide'.
The day started off with two guest speakers, one who spoke about his experience of being an ambassador for the organisation and the second about his struggle with depression. The whole school then went on a 2k walk before the first and second years came together to make the word 'hope' with their bodies. Afterwards the whole school participated in several sporting competitions such as relays, bubble soccer, rounders, basketball and dodgeball. Also, several students kept three stationary bicycles going the entire day.
Towards the end of the day everyone gathered in the gym to watch a teacher versus student volleyball match. To end the day an award ceremony was held to present the winners of the day with medals and to hold the raffle.
A great day was had by all.
