Knockbeg made a strong start to the 3 Counties League at round 1 held in Graiguecullen GAA grounds on Thursday 29/9/16. The Minor boys are on top of their league with 4 finishers in the first 20 overall. Both the Junior and Intermediate boys are in the medal placings at the moment. The Intermediates in particular have room to improve with some key members missing. The Seniors were dominant in their division with 6 inside 15 and a strong individual victory for Cian Kelly.
The Carlow Schools are held in conjunction with this event and Knockbeg have won the title for the 12th time in 13 years. Minor, Junior and Senior boys all won the Carlow titles with the Inters (silver) and Junior B team also picking up medals.
Best on the day for Knockbeg were Oisin Hooney, Darragh Kealey, TJ Burke, Ben Crotty, Vincent Hendricken, Cian Kelly and Jamie Wall
Round 2 is in Newbridge College on the 20th of October.
