Knockbeg travelled to Santry for the first time in a number of years with no teams and only 7 individuals. The first of the boys to take to the testing course in Santry was TJ Burke, who ran a great race to finish 50th after being sick the previous week. Up next in the Junior boys were: Josh Lacey, who moved gracefully through the field to go from 22nd to 8th and followed by his only team mate, Cormac O’Brien, who finished a great race in 41st . Next up were the Intermediate Boys in the 4,500 meters. Cian Kelly managed to move his way up the field and finish 6th, a trade mark performance by the St. Abban’s athlete. He was followed home by Cialann Mulhall in 49th. Finally was the Senior boys race, ran over 6km on the mucky course. Jamie Wall worked his way into 7th place and finished there, Oran ran a gutsy race to finish in 14th place and both qualified for the All Irelands. After the days racing, Knockbeg had 4 athletes going to the All Irelands in Sligo, Josh Lacey, Cian Kelly, Jamie Wall and Oran O’Flaherty.
All Ireland
