As we near the end of the year, I sit back and realise that we have had a most unusual year with a lot of
unexpected events.
I think of our first day back and the tragic events that unfolded, with us receiving the devastating news that Donal English-Hayden had passed away. My thoughts still return to Donal and his family at some point each day. I offer my support in any way that I can to all in our community who have suffered in any way this year.
In October we had our MLL, which was an opportunity to showcase all that is wonderful here in Knockbeg. I want to thank all staff, students and parents for their help and support at this time.
I think also of Mr. Lyons and his recent health concerns and wish him a full recovery.
Mr. Leahy retired, following a life time of work here in Knockbeg, and is still missed.
However, life goes on and we have an excellent group of first year students – the biggest ever and a number of new teachers to help guide them through their time here.
Finally I must mention our students preparing for exams. My advice is to keep the head down and prepare as best you can and then you will get the results you deserve. I wish you all: the wisdom to know the best answers to give to the questions posed and every success in the weeks ahead.
