Irish Angus Beef Competition
On the 11th of February a group of TY students travelled to the Killeshin Hotel in Portlaoise, to complete an interview for the Irish Angus Beef competition. To get to this stage thye had to send in a video to Irish Angus on which they spoke about the sponsors of the competition, Kepak Foods, ABP Food Group and Irish Aberdeen Angus Producers Group. Irish Angus then selected from a large amount of videos. Three teams sent videos from the school, but only one team got through to the second round. The group consisted of Conor Nolan, Mikie Dempsey, Seamus Lacey, Bernard Wheatley and Cian Kelly. If they get through the Portlaoise interview stage,they qualify for the finals in Croke Park where the eventul winners will receive 5 Angus calves.
