Minister for foreign affairs Mr. Charlie Flannagan paid a visit to Knockbeg College on Monday. Charlie is a past pupil of Knockbeg who regularly visits the school and likes to keep himself informed of all that is happening in the college. He went on a tour of the facilities with Mike Carew the school principal. During the tour Charlie spoke with a range of students on a variety of topics relating to life as a Knockbeg student. Charlie noted that the building had not changed since his time as a student and acknowledged modernisation of the facilities for staff and students alike is long overdue. With the tour complete Charlie then gave an excellent presentation to the third year cohort on how the Department of Foreign Affairs operates in preparation for their forthcoming CSPE paper in the Junior Certificate examination. A number of the boys asked some very insightful questions which Charlie was delighted to answer.
