Having already qualified for the quarter final stage this was a game in which Knockbeg could top their group if they won, while the players could nail down their starting positions on the team. After ten minutes it was 0-7 to 0-1 to Knockbeg thanks to three frees from Ciaran Comerford and further points from Martin Maloney, Lir McDonald, Tom Glynn and Padraic Slye. Kilkenny Schools then had a good ten minutes where they scored 1-4 but Knockbeg then hit back through two superb scores from Ronan Curran and Dean Malone and a great goal from the impressive Ciaran Comerford which ment Knockbeg were leading 1-8 to 1-3 at half time.

Knockbeg dominated the second half scoring goal after goal with ease. Jaime Wall scored two in quick succession with two more from Ciaran Comerford (who scored 3-8 in total).  Tom Glynn and Lir Mcdonald among others scored two more points each and another goal from from Comerford along with one from Darragh Phelan ment Knockbeg won convincingly 6-15 to 1-8 and will play Carnew in the quarter final.
