Our 2nd year footballers participated in a Carlow GAA blitz on Wednesday last. Played in ideal conditions at the Fenagh Training Centre of Excellence, Knockbeg fielded two strong teams. All players got considerable game time playing against the likes of Carlow CBS, Pres. Carlow, Gaelcholáiste, Coláiste Eoin Hacketstown, Pres. De La Salle Bagenalstown and Muine Bheag Vocational School Bagenalstown. Adam Nichol Waugh was outstanding in goals, while Daragh McDonald, Jack Lacey, Cónal Brennan and Finán Maher thwarted many attacks. In midfield, Ted Brophy and Tadgh Dooley won a huge amount of possession and covered a massive amount of ground. Tadgh Murray, Adam Dunne, Seamus Farrell and Blake Holmes all found the target on several occasions.
